Lil' Kim is a famous rapper and has also appeared in several films. Her real name is Kimberly Denise Jones and she was born July 11th, 1975 in New York City. When her parents split when Kim was nine, she lived with her father until her kicked her out of the house while she was in her teens. She went to live with friends but also spent time living on the streets.

During this time, Kim met the rapper Notorious B.I.G. He helped promote the group "Junior M.A.F.I.A" in which Lil' Kim was a part. During Lil' Kim's two years with the rap group, their singles from the album "Conspiracy" frequently appeared on the tops of Billboard lists. The album reached Gold status in 1995 with over 500,000 copies sold. In 1996, Lil' Kim set off on a solo venture and made her debut album "Hard Core". The album was a success and also reached Gold status. Her next three albums were also huge hits and Lil' Kim was established as one of the leading female rappers in the industry.

She was notorious for her blatant sexuality and vulgar lyrics without apologies. In 2005, Lil' Kim received a lot of media attention when she was called to testify in front of a Federal grand jury about a shooting which occurring in 2001. Kim lied and was sentenced to prison for perjury when video footage disproved her statements. Her served her entire sentence of one year and one day. Afterwards, she was on house arrest for 30 days and then had three years of probation.

In 2009, Lil' Kim appeared on the show "Dancing with the Stars" as was partnered with Derek Hough. Her performances received a lot of praise though was eliminated in week 9.
